Sunder owns two very nice PDA's, the Newton 110 from Apple Computers and the very fine HP 100. The nice thing about the Newton is the touch screen, but as we all know, handwriting recognition leaves much to be desired! The HP100's keyboard is tiny and flimsey, yes, but Sunder has been known to be able to type faster on it than enter text into the Newton. It is also much smaller than the Newton which means it is easier to carry around, and using two AA batteries instead of four does improve things. Sunder didn't bother to upgrade to the HP200 because it is not in his not so humble entity-like oppinion worth it. The HP200's improvement are not much more than a few new apps. And get this, there is no upgrade path from HP, so Sunder won't bother... Now if HP should produce a very nice COLOR, back lit, 386SX PDA the size of the HP100 with a touch screen, Sunder will be very happy to buy it. (Are you listening HP?)
Both PDA's have horrible readability due to the lack of a backlight, though the Motorola version (Newton Marco) is very nice indeed and is backlit.
Both PDA's have infrared ports, built in applications to make life easier, etc.
Sunder wishes there was a way to transfer the information in the phonebook applications of both PDA's between each other as well as be able to store it on his Mac 7100.
That's all Sunder has to say about PDA's. For now. If you have URL's to different PDA's let me know and I shall add them here.
